Kriti's First Birthday

I have been MIA for so long now that I feel like I'm back to my initial blogging days...I need to restart blogging regularly and visiting/commenting on blogs......I have resolved to make and post atleast 2 cards a week, I am also taking a break from crafting on order, even though I enjoy the love and appreciation (+ it pays for new supplies) it leaves me with no time to try new things...
Ok now for some crafty stuff, we celebrated Kriti's first birthday (yes she is one already!) last Sunday, I had big plans to make ball themed invites, favors, decorations (Balls are Kriti's favorite toys).....but couldn't do even one of them due to lack to time and planning, I know I'm a bad Mum :( .......I did somehow manage to make some handstamped invites for the neighbors and personalized tags for the return gifts. I was not entirely happy with how they turned out but they had to do.....will surely do better next year. The stamp and die set is from PTI, it's called "Little Princess", I've stamped it with Fired Brick distress ink.....added some green rick rack to create a grounded castle. The label die is from Itsy Bitsy, was a bit apprehensive before buying because I hadn't heard of the brand, but it a great die (it even embosses) at the price.
I printed out the personalized messages for the tags and added some washi tape and flowers for the girls (stars for the boys).
The pictures are not great, they do look a tad better IRL.
Here's a picture of the her birthday cake and decoration, you can spot the CD "Kriti" banner from here.
Here is really bad picture of Kriti n me, sadly this is all I have.
Thanks for still visiting my blog, even though I don't say so often I really appreciate it.
Hugs,
Juhi

  1. Juhi I understand why you feel like an inadequate mum being a crafter and not being able to go all out on your princess' birthday celebration. It happens to be every year.Last year i ended up making my kiddo a" so so" birthday card at 12 the day before as things are always crazy at birthday time!!

  6. Hi Juhi - you have been MIA for a while. Good to have you back though. I constantly agonize over neglecting my tots. The fact is there just isn't enough time in the day to do it all and I think I'm going to be feeling this way for a while. Your invitation is really very nice. Fabulous die set - must try some time. Thanks so much for playing along ItsyBitsy's Two's Company Challenge. All the very best!

  7. Hi Juhi...your invitation and the tag are really very good...bright and cheerful.. :)

And I guess it's just not about kids...it's about anyone who is close to our heart... I always end up making 'so so' cards for my sister... she keeps complaining that I don't make beautiful cards for her! :) And God bless Kriti!

  8. Oh my! She is one already. How time flies!! God bless the little princess and you know my baby is almost 6 months now and I already feel I do not have enough time in the day to do it all and I even fuss about if I will be able to add that special handmade touch to her first birthday party :)

And I think you are a great mum - managing a full time job, adjusting into a new home, taking care of a little baby and even taking time out for your hobby is a lot to do :)

  9. Good to see you girl...don't worry...no one judges you..everyone has been in those shoes sometime or another..I'll ask for support when my time comes....
Kriti will only remember the warm hugs, the loads of cuddles and tons of love...so don't judge yourself either..now that you're taking a break from personal orders..you can be there for her ... and record every crazy thing that she is going to do in the next one year...this will be the best I promise you...loads of practice with my nieces and nephews...

    Big big hugs!
